The app is connected to a smart collar - but also can be used without it. Using the smart collar the app sends alerts when abnormal behavior occurs & users can set quick appointments.

User Research

Questionnaire

In this project I published a questionnaire regarding the way users treat their pets, important things they need to know, special care requirements, ways of organize the relevant information, user's behavior during the time their pet is sick etc.
n=45

90%

Of respondents would like to check the physical and
emotional state of their pet
on their own.

80%

Of the respondents prefer to have a general understanding regarding the medical condition of their pet already at home.

72%

Of the respondents are
not satisfied with the information
they receive from the Vet'.

70%

Of the respondents misses
appointments & often
forget medications dosage.

Main problems discovered

  • Most of the owners lack the full understanding about the physical and emotional behavior of their pet.

  • Owners notice abnormal behavior especially while they see visible symptoms, usually after the pet has been ill or several days.

  • Finding the right information scattered around the internet takes a lot of time and it is exhausting , what you'll find isn't personally costumed to your pet.

  • Owners cancel and delay appointments at the vet because they forget.

Information Architecture

UX Methods

Personas

My favorite UX method is personas, they guide several of my decisions throughout the design process. To determine the hierarchy of personas in this project, I used questionarrie statistics.

Link to extended personas info

Guy Adam - Main persona's flow

Push notification  >>  Watch notification  >>  Chat with Pedro  >>  Receiving  a suggested diagnosis  >>  Schedule an an urgent appointment

Wireframes

I created high fidelity wireframes based on the personas i created.
I modified them several times up to the point they solved the personas main pain points.

Onboarding

The Onboarding process is very important because this app is very informative & usually used when abnormal behavior detected, sometimes even in high risk cases.
I added a friendly character to accompany the process.

Main persona's flow

Guy got an abnormal behavior alert regarding lilly's balance. The system refers him to the virtual clinic or to the dashboard.

The system identify first entrence and shows a clarafication.

After Guy read the clarification he continue to the virtual clinic. Here the AI system collect data from the collar, synchronizes between optional cases accordingly and starts asking questions in order to make the diagnosis more accurate.

Once the system has defined the situation at high risk it directs Guy to make an emergency appointment.

UI Design

Once I tested the wireframes usability I started designing the final screens. It was very important that the app would give a sense of maximum clarity, calm & confidence.I used white space as element to minimize the stress, the app contains a lot of information that sometimes can be very complicated and stressful.
I used the color turquoise to maintain a soothing-happy vibes while the color orange refers for alerts.
